Mattress removal
Mattresses, box springs, bed frames and bunk beds. Carried out from any room, one or several.
Family-owned junk removal in Meridian, Idaho
The mattress nobody wants to carry
An old mattress is awkward in every way. Too floppy to carry alone, too big for the car, and the dump doesn't make it easy either.
We come to you, carry it out from whatever room it's in, upstairs or down, and handle it responsibly from there. Box springs, bed frames and bunk beds go on the same trip.
One mattress is a perfectly normal job for us. You don't need a pile to make the call.

What a mattress pickup involves
Most mattress jobs are simple, but they're rarely easy to do on your own. A queen or king folds in the middle, snags on stair rails and won't make a tight hallway turn the way you'd expect. Two people with straps make short work of it.
Here's how it usually goes. We look at the path out first, then lift the mattress off the frame and walk it out without dragging it along your walls. If the bed bolts together, we take it apart so the rails and headboard leave in pieces instead of scraping the door frame. Slats, hardware and the box spring go out with it.
New mattress on the way? Tell us the delivery day. We can come before it shows up, so the old one isn't leaning in the hallway when the new one comes through the door.
What changes the price
A single mattress is a small job, and it's priced like one. A few things make it bigger:
- How many pieces are going. A mattress, box spring and frame is more than the mattress alone.
- Where it is. A ground-floor bedroom is quicker than an upstairs apartment with a narrow stairwell.
- Whether anything has to come apart first, like a bunk bed, a loft bed or a heavy wooden headboard.
- What else you add. If the old nightstands or a dresser are going too, it's one trip and one price.
Send a photo and tell us what floor it's on. That's usually all we need to give you a firm number.

Getting ready, and where it ends up
There isn't much for you to do. Strip the sheets and the mattress pad, clear a path from the bedroom to the front door, and let us know about pets so we can keep the door shut behind us. If a mattress is wet or soiled, mention it when you book so we can plan how to carry it out cleanly.
Mattresses are one of the harder things to get rid of well. Donation centers tend to be strict about used ones, so donation only works for a mattress that's clean and in good shape. Metal bed frames and box spring wire can go to a scrap recycler, and a solid wood frame or headboard gets offered for donation first. Whatever's left goes to the landfill. In Ada County that's the county landfill locals call Hidden Hollow, off Seamans Gulch Road; Canyon County has its own at Pickles Butte.
Mattress removal questions
Will you pick up just one mattress?+
Yes. One mattress, or a mattress and box spring, is a regular job for us.
Do I need to get it outside first?+
No. We'll carry it out from whatever room it's in. That's the whole point.
What happens to it after you take it?+
We handle it responsibly. Where recycling or donation is an option for the frame or the mattress, that comes first.
Will Boise's Curb It pickup take my mattress?+
It can. Boise residents get a limited number of free bulky-item pickups a year through Republic Services, and a mattress counts as one. If you've used yours up, can't wait for a pickup date, or can't get it to the curb, that's where we come in.
Can you take the bed frame and headboard too?+
Yes. We'll take the frame apart if it needs to come apart, and the hardware leaves with it.
Do I need to wrap or bag the mattress?+
No. If it's stained or damp, just give us a heads-up so we can plan how to move it without making a mess of the house.
